British American Tobacco Ghana was incorporated on the 1st of November, 1952. the company started cigarette production in 1954 at Takoradi using imported leaf . A year earlier, the company introduced tobacco cultivation on a commercial scale and has since been providing about 80% of its major raw materials locally. The company’s factory in Takoradi was completed in 1959 and in 1988 a green leaf threshing plant was added to the factory. On our brand portfolio are well known local and international brands such as tusker, the first made-in-Ghana cigarette in 1954, State Express 555, Rothmans, Embassy, London, Diplomat and Pall Mall. The company also manufactures Tabaca for the Sierra Leonean market.
